Margin Agent

For finance, pricing and sales ops

Every night it reads your order lines and tells you exactly where the margin went.

The Margin Agent is an AI agent for manufacturers and distributors. It reads order lines, landed cost, customer pricing and contracts, carrier invoices, rebate agreements, supplier price letters, commodity indexes, tariff notices, competitor prices, watches for cost drift, discount stacking, negative-margin lines, freight leakage, and hands back ranked exception list, owner assignment, recommended correction. It never change a price. Every correction is routed for human approval. It runs on Prophet 21, Epicor, SAP, Infor, Epicor Kinetic, Dynamics 365 and goes live in 3–4 weeks.

What would you ask Margin?

Illustrative sample records, figures and external signals (weather, permits, commodity, tariff and competitor data) show the agent's intended behavior. They are fictional; no live system, company, or customer data is connected here.

The problem

The problem the Margin Agent solves: Month-end is a bad time to find out.

Cost went up in March. The discount stacked in April. Freight was never in the quote. By the time the report lands, the orders have shipped.

1Cost drift no one flagged
2Discounts stacking past the floor
3Freight eating the line quietly

Never: Change a price. Every correction is routed for human approval.

How it runs

How the Margin Agent runs: Three steps, every night, unattended.

  1. 01
    Reads
The day's order lines, landed cost and customer pricing, straight from the connected layer.
  2. 02
    Ranks
By margin at risk, not by count. The top of the list is always the money.
  3. 03
    Routes
To the owner, with the evidence attached. Nothing writes back unapproved.

Typical data points. We confirm the exact list with you during discovery.

From your ERP

  • Landed cost and cost history
  • Customer price lists and contracts
  • Discount, rebate and override rules
  • Ideally 12 months or more of order history

From freight and finance

  • Freight terms by customer
  • Carrier invoices
  • Rebate agreements
  • Supplier price increase letters

Before you ask: Margin Agent questions and answers

How accurate is it?

Accuracy on a test set isn't enough. It has to hold up on your live systems. We work with you on your own data and prove it on your use case, running against your production systems.

Can it write a price back to the ERP?

No. It recommends corrections and routes them to the pricing owner. Nothing changes in the ERP until someone approves it, and every decision is logged.

What happens when landed cost is missing on a line?

It holds that line instead of guessing. The order stays visible, is left out of the dollar total, and goes to a data queue until the cost is supplied.

How does it rank two exceptions of equal value?

By the tie-break rules you set during setup, for example open orders before shipped ones, or contract accounts first.

Who receives the exception if the owner is unassigned?

A fallback queue you name during setup, such as the pricing team lead. Nothing is dropped because an owner is missing.
